Our wedding is intended to be a relaxed, joyful and informal affair, celebrated with both families from NZ and from Scotland, as well as friends from far and wide.
No dress code although kilts preferred for the Scots of course! Dress up in your favourite finery and don’t be afraid to rock your own unique style! Wouldn’t recommend heels due to the uneven ground but bring your dancing shoes (and a torch, as it gets really dark at night)! And don’t forget to bring your swimming togs and towel too!
The wedding ceremony will be around 3pm in a marquee erected at Sandy Bay, only a short walk from the wharf. Our celebrant will be the lovely Hilary Ord.
There will be drinks and a cold buffet served for everyone at our reception in Rakino Community Hall, just by the wharf, once the ceremony is finished
There will be live music, dancing and general tomfoolery for the remainder of the evening!
No presents please, your presence will be our gift. We would love it if you could bring a plate of your favourite kai (food) to share at the buffet. If you would really like to give us a gift of some kind, we would really appreciate donations to Soul Food Whangarei or Refugees As Survivors NZ.
